My kids are 3 and 5.
They tidy their own rooms and roughly make bed to a reasonable state where I can go in and do a few extra bits. They put their pjs away in the morning and night nappies in the bin. They clear the dinner table. They set the table. They basically clean up any mess they make whether it's crafts, board games ect ect
I'd expect muxh more the older they get such as putting a load of washing on and dishes.
We don't have much routine besides a quick bedtime one of shower/bath, tv, book and bed. Our week days are usually the same so the kids know what to expect each day of the week. I do lots of prepping like set out their clothes for the whole week, prep lunch boxes at the beginning of week ect
My kids are responsible for their rooms and the mess they make in living areas and they also must do one job to contribute to the house, take the rubbish out, empty the dishwasher, vacuum the floor depending on age, depends on the job. My kids are 16,14,8 and 4.
School Days:
7am I set a visual timer and give my kids a checklist to complete in 1hr - breaky, dressed, lunchbox, teeth, hair, bag. They get 10mins screen time if completed, if not we have a 10min window to finish before leaving.
4pm Afternoon tea and play, homework 4.30pm then a chore chart to complete for 30mins screen time.
6pm Dinner, showers
7-8.30pm quieter activities then teeth, toilet and bed
School Holidays:
8am breaky and play
10am morning tea and to do checklist - chores, exercise, outside, 1 activity like typing or Lumosity or practise piano or do art etc
12pm lunch
1-4pm screen time
4pm afternoon tea
6pm dinner
7.30-8pm showers
8-9pm quieter activities
9pm toilet, teeth, bed
Mine are terrible eaters too, so I made them make a menu that we either pack a lunchbox together or they follow themselves. They also decided on a weekly dinner menu.
I have 7 kids ( 6 live with us ) my older 2 16,15 occasionally cook a meal do dishes , washing , vacuum, loads of washing, the 12 yr old helps getting lunch for younger 3 ,knows how to put a load of washing on , younger 3 try their best to help by drying dishes and put away and vacuum ( they actually ask to help ) for jobs to do they think its great to help
