Bullying in High School

My daughter is in Year 10 going on to year 11, she has been the subject of bullying, nothing physical, just words, rumours, lies. I have tried speaking to the parent but her child is perfect, mine apparently is disgusting. My daughter is a beautiful girl inside and out but it is breaking her spirit, I have spoken to the school numerous times, they talk to this girl and she continues to do it still, I am thinking of bringing in the police, has anyone else gone down this path and did it help or make it worse

Send her a cease and desist letter from a lawyer. I hate this kind of bullying. It's unpunishable but so damaging. This is what usually leads to punch ups and outbursts and the kid that has been bullied then gets in trouble. Show them you mean business and what their mouthing off can achieve.

Threaten defamation if lies and rumours aren't set straight while you're at it. Or to sue for psychological treatment costs.

To be honest, I'd be looking at moving schools. Not that you should have to but as someone else said, this type of systematic, sneaky bullying is really hard to put a stop to.

I’ve just dealt with this with our 10year old daughter. If the child’s parents won’t step in the only thing you can do is try to build your daughters resilience and confidence up so she can learn how to cope. There is a lot of helpful information online on how to help your child deal with it. Enroll her in team sports and invite her friends over to your house regularly to build her up. You could even enroll her in a self defence class, that builds mental strength and confidence to. Spend one on one time with her, doing whatever she loves doing to take her mind off it. My daughter has become strong and is dealing with it a lot better now, she just shakes it off and even gives it back. Good luck xxx
