Our Kids (x4) need to buy their dad (my ex) a birthday present.
He’s nothing to me but he’s still the kids dad so I’d like to buy him something special.
The kids are young so I need some help with what to buy. I’ve asked them but.....
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated:

A gift card? Then it's not too awkward about it being too personal. Or give him a framed photo or digital frame with photos of the kids.
Photos of the kids and the kids for the weekend or a gift card. Or take the kid shopping and help them choose something he’d like but give them a limit on what can be spent. My ex gets something they choose for his birthday generally a card. For Christmas he gets a new photo of them.
Photo products of the kids or their artwork. Personalised gifts like Milo or aliens lolly tin to say Daddy.
What would you get him from the kids if he was still your partner? I think if you start there and then factor in cost (obviously you don't spend as much on an ex partner as you would a current partner) you'll find something perfect. You are setting a great example for your kids by helping them with this.
I used to take the kids to cheap novelty area in Kmart.
You are a wonderful mum!
I agree with other suggestions of getting them to pick something you and the kids know he will like with a limit $. But handmade cards are the way to go, something with a hand print or footprint and their age next to it so it gives meaning and memories as the kids get older.
