Depends on your area and the surgical wait list.
Recovery varies, but I’ve nursed a few who were up and walking within the day of surgery. Public hospital should keep you in overnight, and preferably 2 days post op as a minimum.
There’s a handy pamphlet your doctor/obgyn will give you, it includes foods to avoid, exercising before and post surgery and expected symptoms and things to look out for.
It can depend on where you live and why you need a hysterectomy.
In our state they prioritise according to need. Patients are divided into categories. Category ones are classed as urgent and category 2 is approximately a 6-12 month wait.
