Never ending periods 12yo girl

Hi Ladies, I'm in need of advice for my daughter. She is 12, got her first period in November 2018, 2nd 2 weeks later, 3rd a week after that, then again only 3 days after the last and has been bleeding ever since.

We saw a gynaecologist in February at day 20 of bleeding, they put her on a progesterone tablet 10mg once a day. We were only supposed to take it for a fewdays to a week and expected to see the bleeding stop. After one month on these her bleeding still hadnt stopped. So we were advised to double up so one 10mg in the morning and another in the afternoon. We did this for 2 weeks with still no change except her periods became more painful and she was passing clots (one large one, larger than I have ever passed).

We went back to our GP who suggested we stop the progesterone and start the contraceptive pill. She has now been taking Evelyn for 6 weeks, about 2 weeks into taking it her period stopped and she got a nice 10 day break. She skipped the sugar pills to hopefully not get her period but it still came. She is still bleeding now 2 weeks later.

She has missed a lot of school this term which has resulted in her first ever D, a D for English and Maths 😔 she is taking days off due to cramps, nausea, headaches and sometimes simply because the bleeding is too heavy.

Her blood tests came back good, thyroid test good, ultrasound shows a thick walled cyst on her right ovary. I asked the gp if the cyst could be stimulating her ovary therefore producing more estrogen but he says no?

Please help me, have you been through something similar? Any ideas what this could be?

I'm ready to take her off the contraceptive pill and just allow the bleeding and eliminate some nausea and or other side affects of the pill.

It’s not normal, and neither is a cyst so why hasn’t you GP looked further into the cyst??

I agree. I have asked if they believe it should be removed but have been told no and also no it doesnt stimulate the ovary. Am going back to doctor today, just not sure what I should be asking for now.

Keep pushing your GP for answers and follow up with your gyno. It might be a case of needing to take the pill a bit longer. For me, I don’t see changes until around the 6month mark as my body gets on board with the changes.

Wow. Way too much for a 12 year old to have to deal with! Poor kid.
It's already negatively affecting her life, specialist asap. Don't let them dismiss your concerns.

Did she have the HPV vaccine? It's causing massive fertility issues. I'm not sure if this includes that but it's something to ask specialist about and research it online. there's a doctor who does a you tube video about the dangers of the HPV vaccine and fertility.
