I stopped taking the Pill just over 12mths ago.
Initially my period was off and extremely painful, that has since eased and fallen into a rhythm.
More recently in my life I have been suffering majorly from mood swings, fatigue, PMS, depression etc.
Wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences when stopping the Pill?
I have seen my Dr and we are trialling the Pill again to see if we can get things back into rhythm for me, just hoping for some first hand experiences and how others dealt with it
(I've read lots of Google articlea saying it's real)

There can definitely be a lot of changes when you stop the pill and there are two schools of thought.
1. The pill was masking your regular cycle/period. So you may have had these symptoms if you had never taken the pill
2. The pill causes all the drama.
I sort of lean towards number 1, because I’ve experienced stopping the pill and im definitely less moody, more regular etc on it. I happen to know my mum had never taken the pill but wasn’t regular and moody etc. so figured we were bound to follow similar patterns.
It’s also helpful to take into account age. I’ve hit the dreaded perimenopasue stage. Right on schedule. So if I stopped taking the pill today I’d become extremely irregular and would be noticing that I was getting hot flushes etc.
I’ve been reading a really interesting book called “moody bitches” and it covers everything about how the pill and hormonal contraceptives mask our moods ect ect but how it’s actually completely normal for woman to be moody. It’s really interesting
