Home Loan missed payment

Home Loan missed payment

We have just got our first home loan, we are in the building process, so it's just interest we are paying at the moment.
I forgot to transfer money over in time last week and had a direct debit fail. I transferred the money the next day so it's paid now. But would the bank send out a registered post letter for this? Loan through Westpac.

Did you get a letter?

I assume an automatic mail system would send a letter. It usually says at the bottom to disregard the letter if payment has been made.

You will be fine. In future just ring the bank as soon as you realise and they are pretty good. They just take it out when you let them know that it’s there. Don’t stress.

No. They wouldn't have sent one after one day. You'll be ok

I do this all the time. Not wo Th the Westpac but very forgetful these days. I remember getting a fine and worried it would come in the mail, as the car was in my husband's name I knew he would have a go, be all judgy and remind me that I wasn't as good a driver as he and we couldn't really afford this. I hope your partner is less of a tool.
But with the missed payment, we get email and text reminders to both of is as the loan is under both names. So odds are he knows and you should probably just explain what happened and that you've got it sorted. Apologies if I'm making assumptions but It sounds like there is an underlying issue. We all miss bill payments.
