How to get rid of head lice

The dreaded word we as mother's hate to hear, is your child has head lice( just makes me feel itching just thinking about it ). But I'm in need of advice. We do our daughters hair ( using both the metal tooth comb on the one that comes with those packs ), an with in a few days she has them again ( yes we change an wash everything ). We've tried all those moove it ones an the other ones, have tried coconut oil an apple cider vinegar, even the good old lather hair in conditioner doesn't seem to work, what other ways can we try an works.

Do the medicated treatment. And then do a conditioner comb through each night. Repeat for 3 weeks. (I don't comb through conditioner daily for 3 weeks as it really hurts, but definitely at the start).
And then tie hair up and coat with oil or hairspray when they go to school.

I used nit wits as a treatment, wait a few days then sit and go thru my kids hair by hand and use a fine needle head pair of tweezers to remove any eggs. It took about 20 minutes with my son but its about an hour for my daughter. Then use just a cheap brand of hair spray on them whenever they go to school. We have managed to get about 6 months without a single beastie (touch wood). Unfortunately if you miss even a a single egg 2 weeks later you'll be infested again. Good luck mumma nits suck.

Your daughter sounds like a young me. Treat like 3 times in a week. KP24 worked for me, and we used it in the wash and everything too. Make sure you're soaking all the hairbrushes and hair ties in treatment too.

Time to stop with the natural stuff and use medicated ones

You are gonna need something stronger at this point.
You also need to lather and comb every night for a good week at least because if they're coming back that fast, the eggs and remaining louse aren't dying. You may even need to sit and painstakingly pick the eggs out (They usually lay in patches around the ears and nape of the neck).

And for the love of all that's holy - please don't use flea treatments lol

Hair spray after you've treated the lice. Treat the hair, wait a day or two, treat again. I'd do it at least 3 times and hairspray coating the hair when she returns to school in between treatments. I used to have such a bad problem with nits in school. Eventually all my hair just got cut off because mum was sick of them.

I take the triple attack method - I use 3 different treatments at once, as in one directly after each other not at the same time. An oil based one for dry hair, one for wet hair then one that kills eggs and removes them. After 20 years of trying to get rid of the little buggers it's the only way to get rid of an infestation. Then after that a weekly single treatment and comb out.

Thanks guys, we have gone with something strong, called quintile, you spray this stuff on hair leave for 15-20mins the rinse then wash with the shampoo that come with it. Did it last night ( made her her dry, so now need to do a conditioner treatment ), used comb that come with all nits come out dead, lots of eggs come out to. Will do again tomorrow ( against her Will ) as I'm working late tonight. Will keep up dated

Best thing I have found that works really well, is rubbing alcohol, apply to hair until that is wet, wrap in cling film/gladwrap/plastic wrap for about 20mins wash out then apply conditioner with eucalyptus oil added to it and comb through, they won’t come back or be alive, I thankfully haven’t had to use this on my daughter, but on myself growing up

Conditioner. Don't lather. Smother the hair and comb it out in sections.
If in doubt. Shave her head.
