10 year old girls under arm hair

My 10 year old has just started to develop hair under her arms. Not a lot. Just a couple but they are getting a bit long and noticeable.
I am not ready for her to start shaving as she is a young 10 and would probably do it 3 times a day because she could. And i know shaving will bring more on. Is there other options. Waxing or plucking is out of the question. She is a sensative soul who still cries when i pick up the hair brush.
We are working on personal hygiene. Its not her strongest suit. But she is getting better.
I know i am probably over thinking it but she gets picked on already. I don't want this to be another reason.
Thanks.

Shave it until she is 16 then get laser. Shaving doesn’t bring it on that just naturally occurs. Shaving blunts the ends making it look thicker.

Doesn't matter if you're not ready, if the hair is bothering her, let her shave it or try a hair removal cream.
If it's not bothering her, leave it be!

Try hair removal cream, but honestly as a kid who had to start waxing her bikini line at 10 (underarms at 8), waxing was a lot better as it was every 8 or so weeks. A little bit of pain, not much though. Doing it through a professional is a lot easier than at home options.

I agree. Let her shave until she’s a better age for laser.

Just make firm rules about shaving. Only once a week! Make a particular day she can shave. Make sure it’s nice sharp razor so no irritation happens ect ect

My mum brought me hair removal cream for my first time so I suppose that’s an option but I find it’s pretty harsh on the skin and does frazzle the hairs, sometimes leaving some behind. If it were my daughter, I’d just go the shaving route for now

Agree with the rules about shaving, however depending on how thick/dark her hair is, once a week may not be enough. I am natrually very fair and still need to shave my underarms every second or third day.

Shaving does NOT make it come in more 🙄 the ends are blunt from the razor and look thicker and darker

Sorry mumma, but no one is ready for their kids to grow up. Puberty will happen when it happens so you just have to do these things whether you are ready or not. Shaving won't bring more hair on, and either way, the underarm hair is coming whether you shave it or not.
The issue with leaving it is she is 90% likely to be teased if other kids notice and considering she is a sensative soul I think shaving it and teacher her how to safetly is your best option. 💜
Best of luck for these trying years. Always look back on your own puberty journey and think how you wish your mum had handled certain situations.

If there's only a few, pluck them.

Let her shave or remove them somehow! I remember being roughly the same age as your daughter and my mother not allowing me to shave my underarms. Apparently I had to wait to shave (legs and underarms) until I was 12, like it was some treat or something.... I was the oldest and I think she was holding me off because she wasn't ready.
My younger sisters didn't have to wait. I still resent it! Particularly as I was teased about the hair under my arms by other girls at school. I can vividly still see a girl from primary school telling anyone who would listen about how disgusting I was.... I ended up shaving under my arms without telling her or getting any advice from her on how to do it which is kind of sad. So in the end, her not being ready, meant she kind of missed out!

I am so open and have fun with my kids about this subject. Just approach it with a fun attitude and don’t make a deal of it. My kids often say something to me about mine. I joke and say won’t be long and you’ll be shaving yours and it’s not big deal to them that way. They say nooo and ewww and laugh. But keeping it open and making jokes helps relieve the situation and makes it so much easier. My parents were so closed with everything, I am the opposite. Relax and lighten up with it. It’s no big deal. Shave it and tell her it’s only for you to help until she is old enough to do it herself once she reaches high school age.

I got my 10 yr old daughter the flawless hair removal system. I actually use the face one for her underarms as they are fine black hairs but long and lots of them and it works really well! She uses the flawless legs as well. Both work really well, no cuts, safe to use and help minimise hair growth.

I would have given anything for a mother who actually taught me how to shave properly. Instead she ignored it until I took to my legs with a razor unsupervised. Whatever you’re doing get onto it before she does.

Have you thought about using an electric personal trimmer/hair clippers to shave? Just a thought.
