Do you truly think every life is valued?

Do you really think every life is valued? As in, ants, fish, spiders, cockroaches etc.

Just this morning I tagged my hubby on something on FB as there was a cockroach at my house and I had killed it and joked saying this is what happened. Anyways, got notifications and had 30 odd replies saying how dare I be so careless for killing an innocent life just looking for shelter. I couldn't help but just think WTF how are we all so precious now? It's a cockroach for gods sake.

So scrolled through to some more comments on said page and people banging on about how human's think we are so mighty and all animals have feelings and we should stop killing them as it'll end planet earth if we do.

Like, sorry but if there's a spider in my home I am 110% killing it, I am not going out of my way to catch it and place it outside for it to just come back in (I am petrified of spiders anyways).

Best not to engage with strangers. The world is full of different people and the internet brings us all together.
Try to remember how you speak to real people and how you wouldn't engage with a random on their opinion of you squishing a cockroach.

Look, I hate cockroaches but I catch and release spiders and other bugs πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ each to their own πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

Ugh... I lose a little more faith in the human race everytime I read comments on FB memes/videos. People will argue about anything, I'd be willing to bet these people have probably squashed a spider or 2 in thier time.

Roaches, spiders, ants, mice, rats etc. They're all pests, as long as you dispose of them humanely (I've seen people set huntsmans on fire for fun - that sort of stuff is awful) then I think you're fine!

I kill a cockroach in the house but I really hate kids that kill bugs in nature. Fish, definitely upsets me.people can be really cruel, if you're going to eat it, kill it quickly, but don't be cruel and especially needlessly cruel.

cockroaches survived ice ages and been around since the dawn of time. they can keep livingfor weeks after they are minus their head.
I think they will go on even despite being one down...
come to think of it are you sure that sucker is dead? πŸ˜‚

Must be a lot of people living like pigs sharing their houses with roaches then hey? I agree with not killing spiders, I like them. When my partner threatens to kill our spiders I move them outside.

I hate it when people get like this over mice. I bought a humane trap from Bunnings, like a cage that can catch multiple mice at a time for the back shed. The lady at the counter went on about how good they were because you can release them. I was like noooo no no! If I catch any mice with this I'm chucking the whole thing in a bucket of water! Why would I release them? I'm trying to get rid of them! I wouldn't be spending $30 on a trap if I wanted them to frolick freely around the place πŸ˜‚. I think all of these do gooders are going to be the cause of a return of the plague!

I had one of these when I had cats. We deliberately didn't use baits. When the mouse trap caught any it was "here kitty, kitty" and the fastest got the prize/s. My cats got to hunt and I got rid of the mice.

Geez I’m glad not everyone thinks vermin, like roaches need to be saved , otherwise pest controllers would be out of work and society would be swarming in spiders , ants , roaches , mice and sorts of other disease carrying cretins etc ... their numbers would be out of control. I wonder if they think the same about parasites like headlice ... maybe they should capture and save those little treasures too πŸ™„.

There is no need for rudeness either...

Spiders, ants bees etc all have an important role to play in the echo system. Our ancestors used to groom each other, picking out lice and bugs as a way to show care and grooming 😁

Nothing rude in it . It was playful sarcasm , plus I was talking about the current day not ancestrally . Head lice are not removed for any other reason other than to stop the spread , and to destroy and kill them in their tracks . No one in their right mind would capture and set free a louse . And no one denies that any crawlies have important roles . They all do. But mice , roaches , lice , ants can all created infestations that become seriously out of control, and they must be Controlled, treated and destroyed to prevent colonies invading our homes .

All creatures have an important role within our ecosystem. I’m all for live and let live. But if a spider, cockroach or fly comes into my home I’m going to get the bug spray out and start spraying. Ants I will find and plug the hole where they are getting in then spray them. In general, outside I’ll leave them be unless there are webs around the carport. I don’t want spiders near my car where they can potentially get on or in it. Some people really need to get a life!
