I’m 8wks pregnant and have hit a slump with my anxiety and depression. My GP has given me Valium as needed and said to just make it to 12wks. What else can I do to control these feelings and get through it? Will it stop? The baby was planned and wanted but I’m struggling so much.

See a psychologist asap.
I’m sorry your going thru this! Reach out to your support network. The first trimester is one of the hardest managing the fatigue and the sickness etc be kind to yourself. See a psychologist you won’t be alone or the only one to go through this.
Try and get some celepram for the anxiety and depression, I had to go on it and told it was the only anti depressant that was least a risk to the baby. It did help me quite a lot. It’s a terrible feeling but be assured you are fine, there is nothing wrong and you will get through this. Breathe and try to focus on happy things. Get some baby name books and read through names and take the focus off of your negative thoughts. Ask for a referral to see a psychologist, it all helps. They will give you some great ideas to cope with it. It will stop, focus on the happy ending and cuddling that beautiful baby.
See a psychologist.
