How do I not take offense?

I recently returned to the work force. Im working for a labour hire company that contracts us to a larger company to do maintaince at various jobsites. Of all the job sites which is at least 20 I have worked at 4 of them. 3 of which I have been to once and the 4th seems to be the only site i reguraly go to. If they dont have work for us then i dont seem to have work. They all have different supervisors. I am a female working in a very male dominant field however have recieved postive feedback from coworkers and supervisors but I cant seem to get anymore work. Last week 2 new guys started and I overheard them talking about which jobs they were going to next (ie this week) and here I am again with no work even though i know the company is flat out. I have asked why there isnt work and hr just say there is no requirement for labour hire for this week, which i know is bullshit.
This is really starting to get me down with me thinking im doing a shitty job (first job in over 8 yrs),Im not strong enough, maybe its cause I am female but its affecting us finacially as well as i have a child in full time daycare and only seem to work a few days here and there.
I know I shouldnt but I have taken offense to the new guys starting when I cant even get regular work. Help how do I build my armour so this stuff doesnt affect me?

Go back and ask HR why, then ask why 2 new guys have work. Maybe they have more quals /skills you could upskill (If not youve drawn attention to it and that youre aware of it)

Labour hire is intermittent and workplaces get who they want. My husband is a tradie and the fact is, he has worked with some female tradies with excellent skills, who work really hard. He still has to do more when on a job with them because they're not as strong and aren't over 6 foot and that makes them slower. FYI, everyone he works with says the same and shorter men that start apprenticeships usually drop out. If they aren't giving you the work and you know it's there, then you aren't what the employer wants. Maybe the others have a ticket you don't? But if everything else is the same, I'd say you're right. It's not saying anything about your work ethic though. Just look to sidestep into something else where you can get more regular work. In the meantime, will daycare accept casual bookings?

If you're a tradie and you work in Cairns, reply to my comment. I'll have you in a heart-beat!

Don’t let it get to you. It’s their loss. The guys may have forklift licences etc. I have the same problem after being out of work for so long being home
With my kids. Labour hire won’t even look at me. Even though I’ve done so much in the past. Their loss!! They also may get some funding of some sort to employ diff staff.
