Hello Sisterhood, I am in need of counselling but I don’t think I can handle face to face sessions this time around. Has anyone tried online counselling and if so how did you find it? I was abused as a child and have been having nightmares on and off my whole adult life. A few big life events have happened this year and I’m haveing trouble keeping everything under control.
I’ve done face to face counselling in the past but because of my shame issues I don’t end up telling the Counsellor all of my worries/concerns/problems. So my past therapy has been a bandaid cure I guess. I would love to hear anyone’s experience or thoughts on online counselling. Thank you

I tried online counselling and for me it didn’t work.
I was able to backspace my responses and manipulate the answers to make it sound better than it was or like I was okay. I had more time to think about my answers so they weren’t coming from the heart.
Face to face, you answer straight away and most of the time it’s the truth.
For the nightmares, have you considered hypnotherapy? Good luck :(
how about counselling over the phone?
I have done counciling over the phone, as I wasn’t able to get there with my children ... I found that was good, as I am able to open up over th phone.
Speaking to someone with out seeing their face is a lot more easier for me
Too.
But in saying that for the theraphist it was a lot more formal.
I don’t think a connection was made on their part.. and the advice was very text book. But it was still good.
