For parents that have little ones in child care how many hrs are you charged for? My daughter started last week and Ive been charged for 12 hrs a day which is fine BUT the child care centre isnt even open for 12 hrs so even if I wanted to get my moneys worth (so to speak wouldnt do it unless i had to) i couldnt. Then Ive seen posts on fb where a centre will just charge 6, 8, or 10 hrs as part of the new childcare rebate system. And I know Im not the only 1 they are charging 12 hrs for.

Surely they can’t charge for hours they are not providing a service for... but then they do charge public holidays🤷♀️
Our centre charges 10 hours and is open 7:30 - 6.
Thr centre gets the choice. Mine still chooses 12 hour days. Thry are open 6-6 though. Im not sure its legit when theyre not even open!! Thrn again even when they are open I doubt many or any use the full 12, so it is a rort.
Mine isn't open 12 hours either but a full day is 12 hours. Also, the shorter days are for between certain hours so I pay 10 hours even though my daughter is only there 7 because I drop her off at 7.10 and the 8 hour option isn't allowed to start until 8am.
