Menstrual cups

Menstrual cups

I am considering a menstrual cup. Currently I use pads and have never used tampons. I am wanting to reduce my environmental impact and also the cost of buying pads all the time. What cups have others used or other options do you suggest (I don’t want to use reusable pads).

During the day - depends on how heavy your flow is, on my heavy days I change every 4 hrs or so, but they easily last over night. I find I start to get cramps if it’s full

Life span - up to 10 years apparently, I’ve had to same 2 since I started 2 years ago and they are still going strong. Mine are a good brand and cost about $40 each but they are very worth it

I have a juju cup. Which I love. I’ve never been a tampon user other than a rare hot weather/swimming.

I’ve had mine about 18 months.

I have had my cup for close to 3 yrs would never go back to pads or tampons. I bought the lunette cup and love it so much easier and heaps less waste. You can even wear them at night and not have any issues

I have been using a Ruby cup for about 2 years now and love it! My cycles are shorter and lighter, cramping is much less than with tampons. It took a few cycles to get it in just right but have no troubles now. I do have a small and a large because some days I can’t get one or the other to fit comfortably as my cervix is quiet low and shifts during the cycle. I love them and will never go back to tampons
