HELP!! Toddler constantly HUMPING

HELP!! Toddler constantly HUMPING

Desperate for advise.
Is none stop dry humping normal?
My son is 2 1/2yrs old, since I have taken dummies away he constantly humps his blanket or pillows.

I have read many forums regarding this but almost all of them are children only doing this when tired or at sleep time. I have tried: distracting him with activities or playing outside, taking the blanket, asking him to stop, positive words when he stops, ignoring it but Majority of the time I will ask him why he is doing it and he will pick up his blanket and go into another room so I can’t see.

I understand it is a natural thing because it’s a new and different feeling but is there anything I can do to reduce how much he is humping.

When the humping started it was only every now and then silently so I wasn’t concerned.
He now humps most of the day, To the point he will be slightly red on the end of his penis from the friction. Over the last couple of days he has started grunting and panting.

Please someone help

It’s not normal to be doing it that much.
Personally I’d get him assessed by an OT and paediatrician.

They only tell me he will grow out of it or ignore. I don’t think they understand I’m not exaggerating the amount he does it. Any other advise. Thanks

I second an OT assessment. Get your GP to refer you to a good Paediatric OT who specializes in autism and/or sensory processing disorders. If GP won’t refer, you possibly can self refer...

Give his dummy back. If he stops dry humping it may turn out that the humping is a comfort thing. He may just need redirecting to a less damage to his penis.

Have him checked for a UTI also - sometimes that can make him want to relieve the itching or sore feeling

Boys can get an infection around/under the foreskin called balanitis that can be very itchy. Also they go thru changes in testosterone but thats normally at about 4 years old. It is a very common thing that lil boys do and yes its very embarrassing lol. Good luck!

must be a comfort thing. Give him the dummy back and take the dummy away in a few months time

Please i hope you get this. How did this end? My son is two in a month and this is exactly what he does. He grunts, gets sweaty. We cannot stop it. He went for an hour tonight in various rooms and when i chnaged his nappy for bed he looked so raw 😭
