Representing myself in court - Have you ever done it?

Hi team,

I am just wondering if any mummy’s on here have ever had to represent themselves in court? Back story (short and sweet version).. I separated from my husband almost 2 years ago. I moved out on my own with my two kiddies and continued to pay all the bills for the house that he lived in as well as my own rent (yes I’m stupid I know).. Skip forward to now, I have stopped paying some of the bills, but I have an agreement with the bank, to save me from being completely in debt, I have to pay half of the mortgage, for a house that I don’t live in (no I can’t just stop paying unfortunately). I am currently staying with a friend and paying rent there also. As I earn over the threshold for Legal Aid, they won’t/can’t help me and I can’t afford my own lawyer, therefore am forced to represent myself in court to force the sale of the house and organise parenting agreements. Has anyone ever done this? Any pointers you can give me??

Thanks in Advance!

I have been to court twice due to custody issues. Both times instigated by my ex. I choose to use a solicitor both times. But my ex represented himself for the most part. He had access to a duty lawyer on the morning of court at the courthouse. All the best!
