1st molars

1st molars

Hi. My lo is currently getting his 1st molars and so far for 3 weeks sleep has been a nightmare. Besides the teething pain he is also getting a lot of wind and tummy pain which I think it's associated with the excess siliva as he has sloppy poos. I don't know how many times I am up at night comforting him and rocking him back to sleep, and I have started putting him to bed with me as it's easier. He used to self settle but now he is starting to fuss at that as well. I feel he will never go back to sleeping better at night. I just want to know how other mums went when there lo was getting their molars, just need to know if it will get better.

Do what ever works. For us it was hylands teething gel (15minutes) to put to sleep n the hylands teething tablets kept her asleep during night(6 hourly).
as the gel only lasts around 15 minutes it was enough to get her to sleep while the tablets kicked in to last most of night. The other gels just didn't seem to work as well. We also used sedagel which again seemed better then others.

once they cut, is when we started training her that bedtime routine went back to normal, so to speak. Took about 3 days to go back to self settling.

Neurofen before bed (and again once overnight) and bonjela got my daughter through. Check though if his teeth are through it might be habit waking him in which case time to start sleep training again. Icy poles are great during the day of you think they are bothering him.
