Night Terrors
Tips, Tricks and Experiences.
My 2.5yo suffers night terrors.
We have worked out that if he stays up any later than his bed time then he will suffer from night terrors for the next week. When this happens I can't calm him at all and I seem to infuriate him more.. only dad can calm him. He recently started sleep walking aswell.
My 6 year old has finally grown out of them. For him, reading him a story before bed every night and having a night light teddy seemed to keep them mostly at bay.
I realise it's different for each child but wanting to know others experience, Tricks and tips that may help not only myself but I'm sure many other mummies.
My 2.5yo loves me during the day but during night terrors I am just the devil and I am not sure how I can help him other than wake his father to do so.
We are pretty strict for bedtime but often special occasions or going out for dinner sets us back.
Thanks mummies x

This sound exactly like my boy and Dad is the only one who can go in and possibly not infuriate him more.
When I am home on my own and it happens, I usually won’t go in unless he wakes enough. I just watch him and make sure he is okay/can’t hurt himself, usually on the baby monitor. And he will calm down himself.
Occasionally he will actually wake, and I can tell because his movements are normal and his cry is different, so I’d go in calmly.
