Hi Kelly,
I am desperately seeking help! Me and my 8yr old son are about to be evicted from our rental home of 7yrs as I lost my job before Xmas and have fallen behind in my rent and I feel I have exhausted every ave in regards to getting a loan etc. I have a new job at a school but they go back until 29th Jan so let with very little income until then, centrelink isnt enough to cover the rent.
I am so worried we are going to be homeless any day now and no ones seems to want to help us. Please point me in the right direction as to where can get help to get back on my feet and keep a roof over our heads.

We have all been there, maybe not with rent but a bill, or struggled to pay one.
My advice is to seek help at salvos etc
I lived with my best friend once and she fell behind rent once when she lost her job, I couldn’t help pay it as I didn’t have the financials too but she called salvos and they actually paid it for her! I know it can be a bit embarrassing calling them etc, but when you are so desperate sometimes those avenues and really help and they help all the time! They paid a few weeks rent for her, and all you’ll need to do is be assessed, with no judgement they are there to help, they have the resource for a reason to help for those in need :) otherwise I have no other advice sorry except for all the best, life is full of hurdles, you will get through this all the best :)
Talk to the real estate, explain your situation, if your been a good long term tenant they should be willing to help you. Make sure you are getting everything you can from Centrelink including any back pay of FTB and rent assistance. Have a clean out at home and we'll anything that's not needed, out grown toys and clothes. See food banks, st vinnies etc to help with food and put of any bills until your back on your feet. If you talk to most places they will help and extend bills. If you have any loans seek hardship. Good luck, I've been there and know how tough it can be
