For those of you who have had your gallbladder removed, Just wondering how long it took for you to "recover"?
As in how long before you could drive again, get kids in and out of car seats, do day to day tasks? Go grocery shopping alone (bringing in all the heavy grocery bags alone mostly).
I've never had surgery before, and it's a while away so can't ask the surgeon these questions until then. (But I'd rather know from those who have actually had the surgery).
My husband has a week off of work, but I feel like he thinks I'll be back to doing everything myself the day after surgery?
Recovery time.

It took me about a week to be back to doing all normal things. I was quite tired, but I'd been unable to eat for three days before surgery due to my body not agreeing with wait times. My liver function had been affected etc.
I bounced back faster after having my tubes tied.
Nope you won't be driving and picking the kids up the next day. You'll be sore and tired.
I had mine out by keyhole surgery and was up and about in 2 days and driving (manual) within 5 days.
A week back into normal routine but still a bit sore etc
Be prepared for the unexpected. I went in expecting key hole surgery but woke to 30 staples in a huge incision across my abdomen due to complications. I was in hospital in severe pain for a week after. The recovery time was at least 4 weeks before I could lift anything and I was quite healthy before the op, weight lifting 4 times a week and 2 young boys to run around after.
I had keyhole on a Monday morning. Was fine by Friday. Not 100% but managed a 2 hour drive and attended a party
