Bali when pregnant ?

Bali when pregnant ?

Hi Mums
Has anyone been to Bali pregnant. I will have an almost four yr old and would be about 20-23 weeks pregnant when we were thinking of going? My main concerns are mosquitoes and food poisoning. I've been twice before and did get bali belly but I haven't been for 15 years so its probably changed a lot. Any advice on if its safe or should we just forget it ?

I wouldn't go to any third world country while pregnant but if you are going to go make sure you have the best Travel Insurance available. And nope, Bali hasn't really changed in the past 15 years and Bali Belly is still as common as ever.

Travel insurance doesnt cover pregnancy or the baby if its born. And hospital treatment there is very second class but bills will still be crazy expensive and any repatriation or medivac to better facilities will be tens of thousands at least.

As I don't think the travel insurance will cover you, I'd steer clear. Can you imagine if something goes wrong? I'd wait it out, go somewhere in AUS then, when bub is older, go as a family :)

Agree go to cairns or airlie beach or a weekend at the gold coast or byron would be proper deluxe.

The main concern is potentially going into early labour whilst in Bali. Unfortunately their healthcare is not good enough & I would rather be in a safe country at that gestation.

I was 13 weeks pregnant with my third when I went with a girlfriend. Stayed in Legian, went on a couple of tours to Ubud, a temple and volcano. All good
