You won't get an internet provider that won't do a credit check, your best bet is to get a pre-paid service to start with, prove that you can pay the bills and then make sure you fix your credit history. Then after that they may allow you to get fixed line internet. I know at one point my ex had a bad credit rating but he still managed to get fixed line internet. You'll just have to apply for one of the big ones and hope for the best.
Most of the big ones will do a credit check (telstra, optus etc), it's not even a credit check so to speak. They just check to see if you have an outstanding bill with their company, if not they will approve you.
I'm with Dodo, they didn't do a check and I have an outstanding debt with Telstra (which I refuse to pay out of principle).
Don't go pre paid - it costs a ludicrous amount for a pathetic amount of data (I looked into it, some companies offer 10gb for $50. I get unlimited data for $60 a month).
I'm assuming you're in Australia? Is nbn available in your area? There are so many independent internet providers now, just apply and see how you go. You'll be bound to find one!
Thank you I will deff give it a try. This is also the case for me outstanding debt with telstra also refuse to pay.
Apart from Optus & Telstra, none of the others will do a credit check. We are with Belong (NBN) and they just wanted payment upfront by card. I get a copy of my credit file once a year and not since 2012 has anyone checked my file and we have changed mobile, internet & power providers numerous time. And remember they can only do a credit check with your permission so make sure you read any fine print when signing up online.
Belong will do it. I have terrible credit and they did it for me not long ago. Good luck.
Try Belong. They are a prepaid service but work like a plan. You have two weeks after due date to make payment before you get suspended connection. Although their customer service isnt the greatest.
I just got screwed by belong failing today even answer my urgent financial hardship application and I immediately signed up with super loop. Online at 1 in the morning. They say don’t cancel your belong service until
Theirs has been connected or it can interfere with the progression of them
Taking over the connection. I intend to still use the belong modem
For super loop. I read on whirlpool
You can do so. They didn’t seem to do a credit check on me at super loop.
Did you end up getting an approved internet connection?
