Is he an outdoors or indoors kid?
For my sons 5th hubby built him a tool bench of his own and we got him kid safe tools cause he's an outdoor hands on kid.
For my nephews 5th we bought him a leap pad and a heap of educational games like the octonauts science and cars maths games cause he prefers indoors activitys.
Lego, scooter, bike, sandpit
It's a good age for a hardcover chapter book you can read to him. just read a page or an excerpt to make sure its suitable. Classics are good, pooh, peter rabbit, Harry Potter, Roald Dahl, Enid Blyton,
5 is the easiest age I think (wait til he's turning 10 lol).
Trampoline, swing set, bike, scooter, inflatable pool, soccer goals & balls, skipping rope, hula hoops, basketball hoop.
Lego, arts and crafts, board games, cars, trucks, books, puzzles, science kits.
You could even do a new 'big boy' bedroom set up
Cubby house.
