gender scan

hi IM's, just wandering if there is anyone out there who has had an incorrect gender scan, we had a scan the other day (20 weeks) and the sonographer was so quick to brush over the area. Didn't say I'm going to check gender anything. we wanted it written down so we could see in our own time! it just seemed very blaze by the tech. kimmed over everything, I was waiting for her to say look away I'm going to check gender. Now I'm questioning wether she is correct!!!

I haven't but I know a few people who have including one who got told they were having a girl by the harmony test and it was incorrect.

When I had my son they basically never told you the gender during a scan because they were so unreliable. Over the years they have become more reliable but there is still an error rate.

However I think you were looking for an 'experience' with this scan. The sonographer was being a sonographer and was doing what a technician does. To him he might as well have been doing a scan of your gallbladder. If you want an 'experience' you are better off paying for one of those private scans where they just do pregnancy scans and they are paid to provide an experience.

Yes one of mine was wrong. They said he was a girl. Generally the boys look like snails and the girls look like butterflies in that region.
I had more scans later and found out he was a boy but yes they can be wrong.

I was going to get ours to write it down too but at the last minute decided that I wanted to see and I am so glad that I did because I needed to see so for myself as well to believe it.
Is there a way you can have another scan and see for yourself?

My second was wrong, only 7 years ago.
We didn't want to know.
They said "you have a healthy boy"
We told her it looked girly as our 1st was was still a baby (14 months apart) a boy. They checked and measured. Adamant it's a boy.
I had a scan once a fortnight (always a boy)

I even packed a pink outfit, as it looked so girly

She Is now almost 7 and super duper girly.
