Hi everyone, I am currently seeing my Dr with period issues. The Mirena and other forms of hormone control have failed to help and I continue to have heavy periods that last 2 to 3 weeks with no more than 2 weeks break between them. It is so draining, I am tired all the time and needless to say the bedroom is no longer exciting or fun. I can count on one hand the number of times hubby and I have had sex in the last 12 months. :(
The Doctor has suggested an Endometrial Ablation using NovaSure. I am hoping some of you have experienced similar or have had this procedure done. I have read the literature about it, but I am still not sure. The idea of not being able to have more kids is a difficult decision to make (although we have been trying for 6 years with no success.... my cycle is the main issue). But putting up with my psycho cycle is just no longer manageable. If you have had this done, were there side effects, has it worked?

I was pretty much in the same situation. Periods would last anywhere up to 8 weeks. No
Looked at NovaSure and was going to go ahead with it.
In one last ditch attempt I went off all meds- period regulating & anti d's and within 3 months my period = 2 days normal bleed 1/2 day light and that was it! They were every 28 days too.
Now,also, after trying to fall pregnant for 6 years, it's happened!!
I believe going off all meds made all of this happen.
