Homestay

Has anyone done homestay? How did it go? I'm thinking about doing it. I've got a spare room that isn't being used. Does the money you get cover things? Do you have to drive them to and from places or where they are studying? Or do they find their own way? How long do they stay for? Is the money you receive taxable income or does it affect Centrelink payments? I work but would be home except pretty much school hours. I've got a kindy aged child how do you find your children have coped with this?
Where do you go if I was wanting to do this? Brisbane area. Does it put strain on your family? I remember my parents doing it when we were kids and I remember it being fun learning their way of life ect.
