Decluttering

I want to declutter my house is there someone that you can hire to come and be brutal with you? Someone who helps declutter and re organise your house? I have a habit of keeping things because I may need it or whatever but I need to be brutal and get rid of some stuff. Hoping to have a garage sale with it all but I'm wanting someone to come and push me to get rid of things because really I'm pretty bad at letting things go 😩 I never know what to keep and what to get rid of. The clutter is doing my head in

Yes there are. Usually they advertise as home organisation experts or similar. Google de clutter, home organiser and your area

Theres a big clutter free / minimalist movement happening at the moment. Have a look at some popular practical tips books to guide you through.

There is a blog run about minimalism but I can't think of ts name. It gives you tips and ideas if you can't find someone to come in.

The rule I have is...
clothes/books/cooking equipment/bathroom cupboards/linen - if I haven't used it in two years, chuck it because I probably never will.

I love decluttering and buying/selling stuff on fb. I'm sure you'll find someone, or think about a friend who might help you get started. Not family! When we were clearing out to sell our house, my MIL grabbed stuff I was letting go of, her garage was full of our old stuff! Luckily we moved interstate so I didn't have to constantly see it...

And ps I always have assistance, my son or ex do the heavy lifting, I do the sorting. My kids are learning how to sort their stuff. My teen son even quotes 'does this t-shirt bring me joy?' Not that I've read Marie Kondo's books, but I've heard of her

Hey gorgeous one. Sounds like you're after someone to motivate you and be your cheerleaders as well as showing tough love where needed to help you reclaim the beautiful home you desire.
I'm a professional organiser in Melbourne and if you're keen to get in touch I'd love to chat and see if I was able to help you. I've also written a book called, Simply Organised which is a great companion to help you declutter.
AND... we've just launched our new podcast called The Art of Decluttering which has gone viral and is now #20 on the iTunes charts :) So shout out if you'd like to chat and we'll organise a time to get on the phone.
Website is: www.simplyorganised.net and you'll find my contact details on there as well as links to my book and podcast
