How do I help my child?
Up until this year my child has been pretty easy going, more demanding then their siblings but still a pretty good kid.
This year at school they has been the target of some bullying (term 1 and was dealt with in a timely matter), there is also some very challenging students in their class, which equals a lot of disruptions. My child is now very anxious, crying in class lots, scared to enter rooms alone, the list goes on. He likes going to school and likes the teacher. I can't explain it. He has said that he isn't being bullied anymore and has a small group of friends.
How do I help my child? I have organised for the school counsellor to see my child but what else can I do?

Just be careful saying he has anxiety when it could be something completely other going on. It's easy to jump on the mental health bandwagon but it's may be more harmful to misdiagnose/self-diagnose. It does sound like he is displaying anxious symptoms, I think for now you've taken the right steps to get a counsellor involved. Have you found out exactly what he is feeling and why he is so upset? Is all of this about school? Could you request his class to be changed or that next year those students are not in his class?
Get a referral from GP to see a psychologist.
If anything like our system (in NSW) regular access to the school counselor is a bit hit n miss. My son sees a psychologist outside of school once a week. That way, he builds a repore that continues regardless what school he attends, and well beyond school years
