I need to get rid of some debt. I've been trying to get rid of it slowly but I have around $40,000 worth of debt from a messy seperation.
I have an engagement ring 18 carrot gold 1 carrot diamond that was bought for $3500 on sale from ($6000). I have a matching gold and yellow gold belcher bracelet and necklace bought for necklace ($4000 on sale from $6000) and bracelet ($3000 on sale from $4000). These figures are pretty close to what was paid. All in good condition.
What could I expect to sell these for? Where would I go to sell these? If I could get around $5000-$8000 for them all it would pay off a huge chunk of my debt! I don't need the jewlery and the rings just hold extreamly bad memories. I have original receipts also.
Has anyone successfully sold their Jewlery?

The big problem with jewellery is it doesn't necessarily hold its value as much as you might think. So if it was sold to you at $3500 on sale it may still be worth far less than that, based on the price of scrap metals and current fashion.
The only way to know what they are worth today is to get them appraised and get quotes from a variety of sources.
So I'd go to pawnbrokers, jewellery stores (that but 2nd hand) and places that buy jewellery to scrap. All these places need to make a profit on what they buy so don't be surprised if the value is lower than you expect.
You really just need to to get quotes from a variety of places and go from there.
