Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction

Anyone had symphysis pubis dysfunction during pregnancy and how did you get through it? I cannot go to physiotherapy or chiropractor due to medical reasons. I'm in so much pain I can barely move. I also have severe sciatica in both legs. I'm running around after a toddler and I have Hyperemesis Gravidarum (severe morning sickness) I'm almost halfway and im still running to the toilet to throw up. Please help (my dr and ob are fully aware of my conditions and I'm getting help from them, I'm still suffering and looking for experiences)

Get to the chemist and get some tubular bandage! I think I was a size K. Big enough to fit your tummy from you bra and I liked it going over my butt, like a dress. But have it as tight as comfortable. This is all my physio did for me and it helped so much. They can put you on cruches as well and strap you with tape but that didn't help me. I've had it with my last 2 babies, both times I was induced, the last time I needed an epi just to be able to push him out. I was high risk for c-section because they thought I wouldn't be able to labour or birth with it, hence the epi as pain relief and precaution incase I needed an emergency c-section. It was horrendous!

In regards to medication, I was on panadeine forte and endone by the end so maybe discuss with your doctor your options, although they probably won't prescribe anything this early. After you have bub you'll need to be careful as well. I'm 6 months PP and still suffering with SPD pain.

Keep your legs together as much as possible. Take care getting out of bed, going to the toilet, in and out of the car, dressing yourself and even sex. Imagine your thighs are glued together.

Hang in there Mumma, best of luck x

Have you tried the SRC pregnancy shorts? I used them in my second pregnancy and found them amazing. I had severe pelvic pain which eased with these. I was on my feet alot for work and found they helped alot.

If you side sleep make sure you have a pillow between your legs to take the pressure off.
