If they offer, should I take it?

If they offer, should I take it?

I received a call asking if I could do a paid trial for a job I applied for (full time work)
That afternoon I found out I'm pregnant and now I have NO idea what to do. I want and need this job but I'm scared to tell them I'm pregnant. My partner said just don't tell them but I'm not very good at lying 🤥 or confrontation if they get angry over the fact they gave me a job and in 7 months will have to have 4 months off..

Take the job. You aren't past the first trimester and haven't done your scans.
I accepted a job then about two weeks later found out I was pregnant. Employer was fine with me taking a year off because I was a great employee and they wanted to retain me. Have been with them for almost 5 years now and am on my second lot of maternity leave.

Be upfront and tellthem youve just found out and will work but want ro make sure its a workplace thats happy with it.
I told the first job on uniform measuring and they literally sighed 'well we cant discriminate' and got rid of me within a few weeks anyway. I told the next job on phone interview and it was a completely different culture, right from the start they said oh we have plenty of women who work here and have had children. They were so supportive I worked up to 38 weeks. Then back again after. You want to find a place like that anyway so its a waste of time getting in if theyre not.

You aren't obliged to tell them however without being upfront they may not hold your position for you. I'd tell them and tell them honestly of how much time you want to take off realistically and that you don't expect a maternity package from them :)

Personally I would be honest. I just changed jobs and a couple months in, found out i was pregnant. I told my boss after our 12 week scan and she was perfectly fine. I would rather keep my integrity.

The company is no doubt looking for the best person for the job - that means the person who has the most suitable history AND is most suitable moving forward!
You have to consider te structure of the Company and the position itself.
A small company may not be able to allow you to take 4 months off and then return. It may not be feasible or possible for them to employ someone short term to cover the position.
Personally, my honesty and integrity would have me being honest and upfront right from the start. A prospective employee would value that trait in a new employee.
