TTC & quitting smoking

Hey IMs I am currently TTC and I already have a 14 months old son. My question is in regard to quitting smoking. I know it is unhealthy and I am trying hard to cut down at this point but I am an extremely avid smoker... I smoke a pack a day. I was wanting some tips for what has worked for you in the past? What are some ideas? I find it hard as well because my partner is a smoker too and everytime I start getting somewhere seeing him smoke triggers me again. I am not looking for criticism. I know how smoking can effect an unborn baby and that's why I am trying to do something about it before I get pregnant ?

Thanks

Good on you for taking the first step. I'd encourage hubby to stop smoking too, if you're both pack a day smokers your financial gain will be very noticeable (that's a pretty good incentive to me), not to mention your overall health, you'll feel so much better for it (another good incentive if I may say so).
I quit cold turkey about 6 years ago, I'm not gonna lie. It's hard!
I still crave them from time to time but at the same time the smell repulses me ?
Your GP can give you a quit pack too, I'd give the patches a try and serious will power.
You can do it ?

Im currently using champix. And so far so good. The first few days i did cross words instead of smoking and sucked on mints whenever i had the thought of wanting a smoke. After the 3rd day havent needed to do either even when being around smokers

Hubby quit a few years back and used nicorette mints, the only thing he has found to work. He eventually weaned off them onto eclipse mints when he felt like one.

My dad was hypnotised (many times!) and he always relapsed after a few weeks. It's such an addictive habit so quitting doesn't come easy!
