Hi IM's, first time mummy here and expecting very soon.
I'm not sure if I want a maternity shoot or not, hubby isn't keen at all which I respect however don't know whether it's something I want to do.
For those that did do it, why? What was the reasoning? Was it the memories of the journey your body went through?
For those that didn't, do you regret it?

I don't regret it one bit. We have everyday snaps where I happen to be pregnant. They are plenty for me.
A maternity shoot only documents one day where you posed for a photographer.
Just wanted to add, I don't need professional photos to have good memories of my pregnancy.
The things I remember are bonding with my mother and grandmothers, the 1st ultrasound, feeling the baby kick, getting the baby things ready. The delivery. Holding my baby the first time.
None of those special incidental moments are captured in a photo shoot.
Waste of money - save it and spend it on a newborn shoot.
Thanks guys for the responses! We are definitely having a newborn shoot, all booked in :) I have taken my own photos along the way but so many people have been asking WHEN the shoot is (not IF) so it got me thinking.
I didn't do either a maternity or newborn shoot. Instead I got casts done of my babies hands and feet and had them mounted and framed - I love looking at them and seeing just how tiny they were
I did one just because youll never get that time back again. But it was so cheesy and nit me at all I think Ive deleted the photos they were terrible. Now I only have one or two taken at home. The next pregnancy I just took lots of photos ans made people take photos of me out and about and with people. I love these memories much more than stages photos.
