I have been diagnosed with Premenstrual Dysmorphic disorder, my symptoms are severe depression, but only in the week before my menstruation. I've been told the only way to help is antidepressants, which I'm not comfortable with (have been on them before and had numerous other side effects) and hormone balancing medication (contraceptive pill- also not willing to go on due to the long term health effects).
I have altered my already well balanced diet, I exercise daily, I take time to 'relax', I go to bed early, I honestly do everything I can think of- to no avail. I would love to hear from anyone else who has any natural remedies that helped? I'm at a loss, I wish I could just have a hysterectomy. It is horrible to feel this low suddenly, every three weeks.

Would evening primrose help at all? Sorry I don't know a lot about it but know it can be known to lessen PMS (although may not be strong enough for a severe depression worth s try I guess)
Chinese medicine is very effective often at treating these kind of conditions. I would find someone recommended in your area who provides both herbs and acupuncture. This way you can return to a state where these symptoms don't arise. It gets to the cause. Maybe take a few treatments but you should start to feel better.
There are profound side effects to a hysterectomy too (I assume you mean a total hysterectomy that removes your ovaries too, otherwise you'll still have a hormonal cycle and still have PMDD). You would then be in early menopause (surgically induced) which is not to be taken lightly. I'm all for natural therapies, I hope you find some good info xo
