Ex issues...moving forward!!

Hi ladies, just wanted to write in and get all this off my chest!

About 2 months ago I left my ex, we have 2 young kids together. Our whole relationship he was controlling our finances and put us in a lot of debt! When we separated I took the car and responsibility of our biggest personal loan and all the debts he put in my name, leaving him with our smaller loan and his debts. The car was in his name which I have been trying to get him to sign over to me. It runs out of rego tomorrow so it needs to be done otherwise i cannot re-rego it. He's going to get the shock of his life tomorrow night after I finish work as with him refusing to sign it over, I'll be parking it in his driveway taking my number plates off it and leaving him an unregoed car. I will be then splitting both the loan payments in half and we will be paying both joint debts together.
He thinks because he controlled things for our whole relationship that he can still do it, and you know what? For the past 2 months I've been letting him!! Not anymore!! From today I'm moving on, starting my new beginning and living my life the way I want too. Doing what is best for my 2 kids and me! He cant hurt me anymore than he already has so its time to man up and do what needs to be done! I refuse to let him make me feel weak! I am strong and I've got this!!

Thanks for listening, I needed to let it all out to be able to move forward!! Hope you all have a fantastic day!!! ??

Well done, you!!

I would contact your bank/loan people and advise them of the situation and how you intend to proceed. Then they will have a record of you working on paying your share so if he decides not to pay (to try and punish you - if both. names are on the loans, they will still come after hou) they will be aware that your are meeting your obligations. Don't be afraid to speak to their debtors team - they are there to help you!

You really need a solicitor, I was in a similar situation with cars in his name and large debts in my name. Good luck.
