Hi, so my son has two last names. Mine and his father's mothers. We decided it was to be his mothers as he said he was changing it to hers as he didn't like his father's. Now it's been 6 year's still no change and he hasn't seen his son for a year. Now I'm really starting to hate his last name because it has no connection with his father. I want to change it to make things easier when filling stuff out. Would this be hard to get done taking into consideration his father is no longer in his life and didn't change his name?

It's hard, almost impossible without his consent. There's been a lot of threads lately regarding this - do a quick scroll through and you'll find a lot of great responses in regards to it.
It can be done, but it really is a lengthy process.
I know how you feel, but despite all of that you need him to sign the form or give up his rights.
