Childs 2nd birthday party

My daughters 2nd birthday is coming up and we've decided to just do something small at home with close family and friends although that would mean there's no other children other than my nephew who will be six months and I'm already feeling a bit guilty about that so I'm wondering would you generally invite the children from their daycare at that age? She goes to family daycare so there's only 3 other kids but didn't know if it was the " norm" so young plus I've never even met any of the parents

Kids don't care at that age. Your daughter will be so happy playing and interacting with the adults she doesn't need children at the party.
Even if she was 5 she doesn't need a kids party every year. It's totally cool just to have something low key. Not every birthday requires a children's party.
Some years we do the kid thing, some years we do a family thing, some years we just do 'us' with a cake and presents and a special meal.

My daughter had her 2nd birthday a couple days ago. All that were invited were grandparents, aunts and uncles (there's no cousins yet and only from my side, dad's family lives interstate). She absolutely loved being the centre of their attention

We certainly never had kids at all of our birthdays, just family at a majority. They were the best people to spend it with and honestly at 2 she won't know any different or miss her friends :)

No, it is definitely not the norm to throw a party with her 'friends' for a 2 year old. At that age, they're too young to really get what's going on. If I was invited by a daycare mum (that I've never met) to their 2 year old's party, I would think it was a little strange. I'd recommend that you wait a few more years until your daughter is in school and can enjoy and appreciate your efforts! Then after a few years of parties, you'll wonder why you were so keen lol. They can be quite stressful in reality xo
