17 month old with high fevers

Hey my little boy has had high fevers (39 plus degrees) now for almost 3 days, along with a bad cough, runny nose and looking very flushed, glassy eyed and very sleepy. I have been giving him nurofen and letting him rest and sip on fluids but his temperature never goes completely down, should I wait and take him to the doctor tomorrow or take him to hospital tonight? I am so conflicted with what is best as I don't want to take him to hospital to just be sent home TIA

PLEASE see a medical professional - either a doctor, hospital or dial-a-doctor if that service is available in your area... thank you! x

Might be a bit late.. But if you havent done any thing as yet...
You can call
13 health ( 13 432 584) and speak directly to a registetered nurse.. They will go thru some questions and tell you what the best thing to do is..

I'd go tonight if its been 3 days already, what's the worst that will happen? You'll be sent home feeling a touch embarrassed but relieved... if you don't seek attention asap something worse could happen.
I'd also say go with your gut instinct though...
Hope he gets better asap!

Use Panadol n nurofen together as they are digested differently its safe. Everytime one runs out keep it up. You need to completely knock down his temp n keep it down for 24 hours before you stop it. I went through this n my girl was put in hospital for 7 days.
please go to hospital.
