Hi there! So my nearly 5 yo is due to have a birthday party (his first as he's in prep). Today is the date I had put down for RSVP. I've had 2 out of the 10 kids parents reply. I asked my child's teacher to hand them out for me and she put them in the kids homework folders to ensure they went home, I also gave them to her last Monday so parents would have nearly 2 weeks notice. What am I going to do if only 2 kids turn up. He's been talking about having a party since school started. He's not interested in the presents, he just wants his friends over! I don't have any numbers for the parents and at a loss for what to do.

Some people forget to RSVP. I know annoying! This is when you either decide to stalk the other families face to face at school pick up/drop off. Or you decide to prep your son that having two friends come to play is fantastic and going to be so much fun and be pleasantly surprised when 6 of the kids show!
Oops. When is the party, is it too late to chase it up now i guess its school holidays already?
do you have neighbours or old kindy friends or hobby friends to invite? I would either shoot out a few extra invites, or consider an activity for if only two show up, like movies or putput golf or whatevers close or nerf guns or water balloons, activities for a smaller group etc. A play, cake and lolly bags and theyll all be stoked, try not to stress.
Ohhhh....welcome to the world of kids parties. It sux. In kinder we invited 5 kids, no replies, so I went up to them and asked them. I got the whole, oh sorry, I forgot to RSVP, ended up with 3/5 plus 2 brought siblings, so we got 5 lol as they get older, the kids let the other kids know if they are coming, but when they are young, it's really hard!!
I have to say that I'm one of those people that forget to RSVP, I would try and catch the parents and ask if they got the invite etc.
My oldest is in year 2 and I find people just don't bother to rsvp but most turn up. If hes anything like my son he will most likely have a great time even if only 2 kids turn up. My son had a party in prep and just about his whole class turned up then he had one in grade 1 and only 5 kids came. He enjoyed both parties the same.
