I know this is a sensitive topic, but we may not have a choice in the matter. Has anyone else had to have their little boy get a late circumcision? I'm talking for medical reasons. How was it? How was the recovery? Thank you.

My hubby had it done as an older child, I think around 10yo for medical purposes. He remembers being very relieved as the pain was horrendous prior to it, the recovery as fine and not an issue as he didn't really use his penis as a sexual thing. I believe he had a catheter or something for recovery.
My husband spent years and years having issues with having too much forskin over his penis. When we decided we didnt want anymore kids and he wanted to get a vasectomy he spoke with the surgon and they did a circumcision at the same time he was 29 at the time. He was out for 2 days and then back to work the stitches irritated alittle but other than that same as the poster above releive it didnt hurt all the time.
Had my boys done as new borns because their father is done and he wanted his boys done..wasn't keen but glad I did it and had no issues...I've had several family members and a freind boys done later and it wasn't very pleasant for them but they all got through it pretty well...good luck!
My son had it done when he was 7 years old for medical reasons (phimosis) but they didn't sedate him, just had numbing cream and pethadine. I wish we had was given that option as it was very hard on me, hearing him screaming etc and not being allowed in the room. His recovery was awesome - he was back riding his bike the next day and 3 years on we have had no troubles.
