Preparing for IVF

My hubby and I have been trying for a baby for over 12 months with no luck. I have always thought it was me due to Endo (stage 1) and PCOS. Well after going for a 2nd opinion I'm actually not the problem at all. It's my Husband. Very low sperm count. Our specialist has recommended IVF - ICSI ( 1 sperm, 1 egg). I want a baby so bad, so I'm ok with this, as it's what we have to do to get our little angel..
Would just like some advice on our to plan before we start. How did you handle your infertility? What are the symptoms, & how did you over come the fear of injections every day. I will be starting in 2 cycles time.
Thanks ! :)

Ive just done my first round of IVF, and just had my first transfer.

The needles don't really hurt that much and are really thin and if you ice them afterwards the bruising is minimal. It also depends on what meds you are put on. I was on Gonal F and Ceteotide. It was super exciting for me to be able to start and I had to start straight away. Luckily my doctor was on board and did a lot of the pre bloods for me before I went in.

You get bloating and sore boobs and general pregnancy symptoms with the injections but I didn't get any nausea.

Good Luck!! You can do it, it's totally worth it ?

Good luck! Don't take a pregnancy test too soon as you generally get a positive from the medication and it may be false hope :( so definitely wait about 10-14 days!

It's very positive that it is your husband who is the problem as sperm reproduces unlike eggs so it is really easy to manipulate. Stay as positive as you can and never lay the blame game, it's tiring and a long road but there's always light at the end of the tunnel :)

Sorry to hijack your answer. How soon is to soon to POAS? I'm supposed to have bloods taken next Monday. My OH is in town Friday night to Monday morning. It'll be 9 days after transfer and exactly 14 from collection/fertilisation. Will it be too soon still to tell?

No you're fine! I think by then you should be good to test, depending on how long your body takes to implant. Generally, rule of thumb is 12 days but for me I got a huge positive 9 days after ovulation which indicates I implanted around day 7-8 (some implant as early as 6 days, some as late as 12). Fingers crossed that you get a big positive :D
