Water birth

For those of you who have had water births, or seen a water birth - what has ur experience been like?
I'm pregnant with my first, due in 3 months, and have always been drawn to the idea, but would just like to know the pros and cons, and any tips u might have for someone considering a water birth.

Personally, for your first I would have it as a normal vaginal/c-section birth via a hospital. It's such an overwhelming situation and having the support of the staff is irreplaceable.

If it is something you are drawn to further down the track with future births, definitely go for it!

I had a water birth 5 weeks ago and it was my first baby. It made the whole labour so much more bearable, I couldn't recommend it enough! I was induced so contractions came on pretty fast and being in the water helped with the intensity of them. I also didn't tear at all (3.8kg bub). Speak to your midwife, as many hospitals don't allow it. Hopefully yours does and good luck!
