I am hoping to get some advise from Mums that have had some success with travel sickness with their kids.
My 8 year old suffers quite badly when we travel for holidays, in the car or by plane.
I have tried giving her travelcalm tablets as well as Kwells for kids but they don't seem to work. She has also started to have some anxiety leading up to a trip at the thought of her being sick.
I was thinking that maybe hypnotherapy could be something to look at.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreaciated.
We are in Adelaide.

The thing that helped me the most was keeping my head up, having a breeze on my face like a personal fan, having lollies or something to suck on, and having something like a cold flannel on my neck or my face. Oh and a window seat. Something like lemonade to sip on. Hunger makes it worse being overly full makes it worse.
Things like reading, playing on devices that make me look on a downward angle make it worse. I still can't check my phone in a car as a passenger. If I watch a screen it has to keep my head upright.
I'd try therapy, especially since she's now developing anxiety as well. Try to find a reputable psychologist who also does hypnotherapy.
I'd also look into acupuncture, someone who works with Chinese/herbal medicine. Give them a call and see what/how they might help.
I feel his pain as a fellow child and sometimes still adult sufferer! This helps me and my children...sitting in front or at least near a window for fresh air..always looking up...singing
for distraction...sipping coke(unfortunately but it works) travel sickness lollipops are fabulous..always eat but not over eat...good luck!
