Soooo tired

I'm a single mum, 5 autistic kids, no car, lots of appointments, I walk at least 1.5 hours a day, quite often 2-3 hours, kids struggle to fall asleep at night but stay down once they do, I guess it's normal to feel a bit tired right?

In the morning though, I have 3 alarms set on my phone, different songs and noises, and an alarm clock next to my head, yet most mornings I sleep right through them. I've tried to pick the noisiest most chaotic sounds possible, and still sleep through
Kids are late to school most mornings because I just can't wake up
I get them to school, preschool, appointments, on the days I manage to get back home I usually have an hour or 2 before I have to pick them up again, I come home and fall asleep.

Get home from school/preschool appointments, fight the urge to sleep again, usually dinner is late because I'm just too tired to move.

Housework is falling to the side because all I want to do when I'm home is sleep.

I don't think I'm depressed, I take anti-depressants because I've had problems in the past, but generally I feel good, optimistic, enjoy my kids etc
I do have a mirena iud in, I don't really need it anymore so I suppose I could have it removed

What else could be causing this fatigue? Is it normal??

It could be normal, but don't ignore your own problems. As one carer mum to another life has taught me that I can have my own shit too!

Discuss with your GP. Do you snore? Do you have some weight to loose? Things like sleep apnea can make you feel tired even though you've slept etc. What time do you get to bed?

It could be a lot of different things, I struggled with fatigue for years and was even told I had chronic fatigue syndrome by one doctor.
Check iron levels, thyroid, it could be medication (I was taking the pill when mine was at it's worst and I went off it and felt a million times better after about a week), could be diet related, adrenal fatigue, hormone imbalance, the list goes on. I've been through all of these to narrow it down and it was a combination of things, I started seeing a naturpath a few years ago and that has been the best thing for me. I still struggle some days but 90% of the time I feel normal again.
I know the struggle and I found most doctors weren't of any help and just dismissed it as being depressed or something similar. Keep getting different opinions until you find what helps.

Five kids, a bit tired is an understatement! Are you happy? Do you enjoy what you do through the day? What time to do get to be alone and relax and then to sleep? the sleeping all the time youre home hints at depression to me.

If NDIS has rolled out in your area discuss this with your planner you may get funding to help get to appointments and school. There are even community workers who they can pay to take them to school or activities to give you some respite. Jump on the NDIS website for more info. Carers need assistance too. Hope you are feeling better soon.

A single mum with five kids, no wonder your tired, get your blood work done and tell them all your symptoms. If the Doc can't find anything look into a naturopath too. Adrenal fatigue is a possibility too. In the meantime take some B vitamins and magnesium.

Do you have ndis fundings. If not, please get it. Next step if appointments are therapy sessions can it be done at home so you don't have to walk anywhere. With 5 kids on the spectrum and a single mum you should be able to get lots of help. And definitely see if you can get kids into respite on weekends even school holidays. Eat well, and please look after yourself.
