So we have finally been referred to lady cilento after 4mths with my son having a growth on his bum. His doctor isn't sure if it is a cyst
And wants a specialist to have a look. I forgo to ask him the wait times. Does anyone have a rough idea.

It varies from department to department.
If your son was referred to see a neurologist for example it will be a totally different wait time to see cardiologist.
If the GP gave you a number to ring to book the appointment then ringing it will be the only way to know.
It also depends what category, I waited like 4 weeks for my sons spinal surgery as it was urgent but the bowel surgery, it's been months. It depends how urgent it is.
You'll receive a letter saying they've received the referal, what it's been categorised as. And it'll tell you approx waiting times for each category. You'll then receive an appointment letter approx 4 weeks before the appointment. It really depends on what department he's been referred to and what their waiting list is like.
