Centrelink home loan

Hello sisterhood.
I have a question about getting mortgage on centrelink benefits. Dsp and carer pension.
Currently paying $300 pw in rent.
Are there any success stories out there with similar situations?

A lot will depend on what is available in your state. Housing prices where you want to live and how much deposit you have saved (if you are bringing equity from a home you are selling or from a divorce etc),

In SA there are homestart loans and special concessions etc available that make it more possible. There are now in SA special properties that are allocated for a discounted price for people like you and me.

Most of the info is on the Homestart website and HousingSA websites. Homestart run information evenings etc.

You also need to take into account how much deposit you have saved and how much you expect to borrow. I could borrow money but it actually wouldn't have bought anything, maybe one room in a house at the time, but that was before the reserved low cost housing program.
