My toddler loves wooden toys, blocks and lacing activities etc. Also drawing and colouring.
I had to take my toddler out twice a day on my days off, I know how you feel. My son played with blocks, Lego, balls and play tables with sand and water. Pinterest is definitely the site to visit my partner made a DIY play table.
