First pregnancy nerves

I'm 5 weeks pregnant and can't seem to relax. This is my first pregnancy and we've wanted this ever so badly, but being such early days I'm so concerned about miscarriage and losing the baby. I keep feeling twinges on my left side and I've had bad diarrhoea. Please help to keep me calm and get me through these next few weeks until my 8 week scan!

The twinges are likely related to your uterus starting to stretch and diarrhoea can happen when your hormones start to kick in. It's pretty freaky feeling stuff happen but you have no idea if everything is A-Ok in there. I had very similar symptoms and honestly thought when I went for my ultrasound at 12 weeks there would be nothing there (there was and she's now 5.5). Try to relax, keep busy and get plenty of rest. I'm crossing everything that you'll see a sweet little peanut on the screen in 3 weeks time xxx

aww, this is the worst feeling. Rest assured twinges and pains are completely normal. I had a miscarriage with my first pregnancy, but am now happily over 5 months pregnant with a healthy and active baby boy. In comparison, the twinges and pains were quite similar for both.
If you miscarry, it is most likely because of genetic incompatibility; in other words...that there was something wrong with the cells that made the fetus. I know its hard, because you WANT it so bad (I can relate, my husband and I had been trying for 2 years before we fell pregnant).
When I went for my 6 week scan there had been no growth, and there was no heartbeat - probably never was, and surprisingly I actually didn't "miscarry" until week 8 WITH MEDICAL INTERVENTION...which is a really weird feeling because you have something inside you that isn't growing, living or anything.
Every woman is different, you cant worry about every twinge or symptom being miscarriage because it may very well not be.
You probably have diarrhoea from the stress of worrying about it. Take it one day at a time, everything will work out babe. I promise.
