Induction at 37 weeks & risk of csection.

Induction at 37 weeks & risk of csection.

Has anyone had a failed induction at 37 weeks?

I've got an appointment to see the OB on Wednesday to check whether my cervix is fabourable for induction and if it is they'll break my waters within the following few days. They've said I have a higher risk of emergancy c-section because of the % of failed inductions at 37 weeks.

Also, what should I expect with an emergancy c-section? They've highly suggested having an epidural so I'll most likely already have that on board.

Just curious to see other's experiences and trying to calm my nerves.

I was induced at 37wks with my middle child. He came naturally 58 mins after my waters were broken. Good luck.

I had an induction after my waters broke at 37 weeks and the labour failed to progress. Had a natural delivery :)

My first was a natural labour but ended with an emergency csection. Its good if u have an epidural on board early. Its so hard sitting still while they give u the epidural while in labour. The csecrion its self you feel alot of tugging and pulling and it can be alittle over whelming/ clostophobic with the screens over you ect. Nurses and drs are all pretty good to tell you whats happening all the time. Also take it slow after and take some extra big underwear cos the last thing you need is ur underwear sitting right on the scar

I don't know if my experience can help you, but I was induced for my second baby as I also had my waters break *while at work, I am a nurse* at 35+5 weeks, but 24hrs later had still not gone into labour. At 9pm they hooked me up to the drip. I had him (naturally) at 11.31pm. It was intense. I apparently had a "dry birth" - I had lost all my waters! I wish you a good delivery story!!! Good luck new Mama
